Ann Couder, 56, of Nederland passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Webster, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery in Roganville.
A native of Nederland, she was born on April 1, 1964 to Raymond and Carol Mays. She was a resident of Jasper and was a member of the Jasper High School class of 1982. A resident of Nederland, she worked for Ryder Logistics as a Rail Car Coordinator. A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her husband, whom she married on June 30, 2011, Mike Couder of Nederland; son Chris Dalton &wife Whitney of Nederland; daughter LeAnn Platt &husband Daniel of Iowa, Louisiana; brothers Alan Mays &wife Lisa of Jasper and Todd Hall &wife Kay of Jasper; grandchildren Lucy, Olivia, Landry, Sawyer &Piper and great grandchild Waylon. She is preceded in death by her parents Raymond &Carol Mays, daughter Shelby Williams, and brothers Randy Hall and Mike Mays. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Rural Homeless Network, an organization the family has been working with, at www.rhnetwork.org or on Facebook at Rural Homeless Network. This network provides housing to Veteran's, and the family would like to name a house in memory of Ann at Veteran's Village in Kirbyville. The family understands those who will not be able to attend and will plan a future memorial.
