Avery Gary

Avery Gary, 88, of Brookeland passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Brookeland United Pentecostal Church with interment to follow at Remlig Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Shultz Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

A life-long resident of Brookeland, Avery was born on April 2, 1932, in San Augustine, Texas to Andrew Lee &Addie Miller Gary.  A truck driver his entire career, he spent the last 20 plus years working for B &W Trucking until he retired. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Jo Gary of Brookeland; son Michael Haley Gary of Jasper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
