Bobbie Faye Hood

Bobbie Faye (Folsom) Hood, of Jasper passed away at her home in Holly Springs on Friday, September 18, 2026. She lived to be 95 years of age. A Celebration Of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Holly Springs. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Bobbie was born in Shelbyville, Texas to Robert and Mabel Folsom on March 15, 1931. They later moved to Holly Springs with her family by the way of a wagon. She attended school in Holly Springs until the 7th grade when she had to leave school and go Home and help her family on the farm. She spent her days driving tractors, pulling plows and working the crops in the fields. Picking potatoes, corn, and cotton, driving a wagon and doing anything that had to be done on the farm.

During that time, she met the love of her life, Walter James Hood. The two fell in love immediately. They courted each other until Walter went off to the Navy. She waited for his return, and they began seeing each other and they were happily married on August 12, 1948. Bobbie always swore that she’d never dig or plant potatoes or even pick another ear of corn after Walter returned home. Walter loved and cherished Bobbie and they had a love like no other. The feeling was the same for her. She always called Walter her “Sweetheart” and Walter called her “My Love and Best Friend.” From their love for each other they created three children, Rebecca “Becky”, Belinda and son Patrick.

Bobbie and Walter owned and operated Hood Ceramic Tile Company from 1948-1981. After raising her three children Bobbie had another love… She admired the art of flowers. In 1971, she went to work for a couple of floral shops. She absolutely loved it! She had a true passion for the floral artistry. She then decided to open her own shop in 1975…”Bobbie’s Bokay Florist”. She couldn’t be more proud and absolutely loved floral design. Not many people can say they quit school in 7th grade and started their own business and it’s still going 52 years later. It was her Love and Passion to be able to help people in happy times and also in the hard times. Bobbie decided it was time for her to retire in 1994. At that time, she chose to sell her shop to her son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Rebel Hood. Rebel started working for Bobbie in 1983, and she still keeps it running today. Patrick and Rebel chose to keep the family business going to keep her dream alive. They wanted to keep her shop in the family. Bobbie’s Bokay Florist has been in business for 52 years. This is the “ONLY” local hometown florist and she’s forever thankful it’s still in business today. She Loves the Legacy she’s left behind.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mabel Folsom; her daughter Rebecca “Becky” Chapman; her brother John Folsom, sisters Lucy Keen and Inez Ancell. She is survived by daughter Belinda Hood Foster & husband Jeff of Austin, Texas; son and daughter-in-law Patrick Hood & wife Rebel of Jasper, Texas; four grandchildren Phillip & wife Courtney Chapman of Crosby, Texas, Sterling Hood & Cayenne of Fredericksburg, Texas, Whitney Chapman Gossett & husband Jake of Kansas, Lauren Hood Brosin & husband Austin of Little Elm, Texas; as well as seven great grandchildren Colby and Parker Chapman of Crosby, Texas, Jayce Vincze of Copperal Cove, Texas, Owen and Elliott Hood of Fredericksburg, Texas, and James Ellery Brosin “JEB” and David “Beckett” Brosin of Little Elm, Texas. She also leaves behind her loving dachshund companion “Little Bit” whom she loved with her whole entire heart. Also, her baby sister Joyce Trimble of Brownwood, Texas as well as a number of nieces and nephews, great nephews, and great nieces. She had many people that were caregivers of hers but two of them stood out unconditionally. They loved her like she was their own family. The Hood family would like to express many thanks and all our love to Sandy Bumstead and Leah Smith for ALL their love, care and compassion they showed to Bobbie. We are forever thankful to these ladies. Bobbie loved them as if they were her own children. Bobbie was PROUD of her Children, Grandchildren, and Great-Grand Children and LOVED each of them with her whold heart.
