Charles Magee

Charles Magee, 88, of Zavalla passed away on Monday, June 28, 2021 in Lufkin, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles was born on November 28, 1932 to Ray &Irene Magee in Rusk, Texas. He served his country in the United States Airforce, where he retired after 20 years of service and worked and retired as a fire fighter with the Texas Forest Service. He was a member of Plum Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife Joann Watson Magee of Zavalla; a brother Carroll Magee of Little Rock, Arkansas; a son Ray Magee &wife Anna of Bronson; step daughters Carla Griffin of Highlands, Sherri Brymer &husband Scott of Caldwell, Ronda Arnold &husband Eddie of Huntington; numerous nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. He is preceded by his wife of 60 years Lorene Magee, son Gary Haley, granddaughter Krissy Haley, brothers Norman Magee and Gerald Magee, parents Ray &Irene Magee and a sister-in-law Cherie Magee.
