Dalton Eugene (Gene) Oliver passed away on August 20, 2020 at the age of 93.  Gene will be laid to rest beside his beloved Helen in a graveside service on; Monday, August 24th at 10 am with Pastor James Matlock officiating.

Gene was born in Joplin, Missouri to Wylie and Viola Oliver. Gene had five daughters, one son, one stepdaughter and one stepson throughout his lifetime. In 1981, he met and married Helen.  In 1993, he chose to receive Christ as his savior and was baptized at Dixie Drive Baptist Church in Houston. Helen and Gene shared 39 years together before she preceded him in her heavenly homecoming. They spent many happy years working side by side in the apartment industry in Texas and Louisiana before retiring to Jasper, Tx about 15 yrs ago where they enjoyed fishing, spending time with family  and church family, loving on their little puppy dogs, and attending/serving at their final church home together, Tanglewood Baptist Church. Many Sunday afternoons would find them at Janice and John Ray Lewis' home and then back to church for evening services.

Gene is survived by; daughter- Cindy Oliver, son Dalton Oliver, Jr., stepdaughter &husband-Janice &John Ray Lewis daughter &husband- Marlene &Don Stillwell, daughter- Rhonda Oliver, daughter &husband- Robin &Robert Mamula, daughter &husband- Rose &Clarence Fontenot, 13 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews. Gene was preceded in death by his precious wife- Helen Oliver, parents- Viola and Wylie Oliver, sisters- Opal Israel and Bonny Long, stepsister Dorothy Stevens, and stepson Reginald Messina.
