David C. Kunkel

David C. Kunkel, 72, of Jasper passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 in Jasper. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home of Jasper. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

David was born on October 6, 1953, to Walter Carl Kunkel & Jo Merka in Houston, Texas. A resident of Jasper for over 20 years, he worked and retired from Texas Electric Cooperative. David loved the Lord, the outdoors, and his children with all his heart. He is survived by his daughters Brianna Kunkel and Melissa Gail and is preceded in death by his father Walter Carl Kunkel, mother Jo Merka, and stepfather Al Merka, as well as son David Aaron Kunkel and brother Danny Kunkel.
