Debbie Freeman, 73, of Jasper passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024 after a long hard-fought battle with cancer at Harbor Hospice in Jasper. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Debbie was born on May 18, 1950 in Oakland, California. She grew up in Oak Cliff and graduated high school from Justin F. Kimball High School in 1968. She attended Stephen F. Austin State University before meeting the love of her life Jim Freeman and moving to Jasper to start a new chapter of life and a family. Debbie’s face and smile have been a familiar sight for many people for many years. She worked in retail in Jasper for a long time and was always so willing to help people. She lastly worked as a care-giver, which she loved as she loved taking care of people. She was a kind and gentle woman, who loved her family and her fur babies. She enjoyed gardening and cooking. She leaves behind a host of friends with lasting memories for everyone to cherish.

She is survived by her son Jimmy Freeman of Jasper; Stacey Freeman of Jasper; a brother Jeff Teater of Houston; and fur-babies Big Ed, Cooper, Hawk, and especially Calliope. She is preceded in death by her parents Marion &Joyce Teater and husband Jim Freeman.
