Debra “Debbie” Kay Sauls, 62, of Jasper passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Jasper Kingdom Hall in Jasper, Texas.
Debbie was born on September 19th, 1962 in Houston, TX to Raymond and Johnnie May Ford. She was 6th in line of 8 siblings, having 2 sisters and 5 brothers. When she was young, she was a self-proclaimed tomboy, always wanting to go play football with her older brothers and climbing trees (but she liked getting dressed up when she had to!) Later, she met her husband, Robert, and they fell in love and got married in May of 1986. Debbie loved being a mom to her boys, Randy and Eric.
For the last five years of her life she raised her two grand-kids, Eric and Ryvyer, who called her Grandmimi. She also cherished the time spent with her other two grandchildren, Callen and Eisley, and loved going to visit them in California.
Debbie was a very supportive person who loved people. This led her to a lifetime career of Caregiving in nursing facilities, assisted living and home services.
She loved to talk and laugh with family and friends, especially over a cup of coffee!
For the last two years, Debbie studied the Bible deeply. She learned to love Jehovah God, and wanted to become one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She talked often of her hope for the resurrection in the future, and looked forward to living in a paradise earth.
She is survived by her husband Robert Sauls, of West Lake, Louisiana; her son Randy Gresham and his wife Sarah, of Sacramento, California; and son Eric Gresham, of Jasper, Texas; father-in-law Eugene Sauls, of Nacogdoches; her grandchildren, whom she dearly loved, Callen and Eisley, Zora, Nickolas, Eric and Ryvyr;
siblings Linda Bratton, of Russellville, Arkansas; Dalton Ford and his wife Michelle, of Houston, TX; Donald Ford, and his wife Anja, of Jasper, Texas; Derryl Ford, of Buna, Texas; Diana Johnson, of Buna, Texas; and David Ford, of Jasper, Texas.
In addition, she will be missed by a host of nephews, nieces, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother Danny Ford, her parents Raymond and Johnnie May Ford, her first husband Ricky Gresham and daughter-in-law Diana Guadiana-Gresham.
We will miss her very much, and look forward to seeing her again!
