Douglas Counts

Douglas Counts, 85, of Lufkin passed away on Saturday, August 14, 2021 in Jasper.  A private Military Committal Service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 12:45 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery.  A native of Center, Texas, Douglas was a long-time resident of Lufkin.  He was a United States Veteran, serving in the United States Air Force.  He is survived by his wife Helen Counts, whom he married on July 11, 1959, of Lufkin; daughter Georgia Sayers &husband Randy of Jasper; brother James “Jimmy” Counts &wife Cindy of Lufkin; sister Myrna Dennis; grandchildren Blake Sayers, Mallari Schilder, Bryant Plemmons, Zachary Counts, Nickie Counts &Nathan Counts; as well as a great granddaughter Sophia Sayers.  He is preceded in death by his sons Steven Douglas Counts and Craig Dewayne Counts.  A private Celebration of Life Service was held with his family.  Condolences can be posted at www.shultzfuneralhomeofjasper.com or on Facebook at Shultz Funeral Home &Crematory.
