Emma Marie Venable Childers, age 93, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Montz, La. A private service will be held at a later date.
Emma was born on December 23, 1930 in St. Landry Parish, LA. Her family moved to the Higginbotham community when she was a small child. There wasn’t anything she couldn’t do from putting on a roof, to build in stairs, to putting in sheet rock. She was like a man when it came to carpenter work, which she learned from her PawPaw. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
She loved bowling and gardening she especially loved roses. She had a lot of rose bushes in her yard, she also loved birds, she would feed the birds and hummingbirds. She loved watching her beloved LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints play football. She will be remembered forever in the memories of her loved ones.
Emma is survived by her daughter Gloria Venable Estilette.
