“Bill” James Earl Cochran, 91 of Brookeland passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Nacogdoches, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper with a burial to follow at the Frisby Cemetery in Jasper. The family will greet friends on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home.
Bill was born on March 23, 1933 to Archie and Lilly Cochran in Brookeland, Texas. He was a long-time resident of East Texas, and he served his country in the United States Army. He was a hard-working man, that loved to watch western shows and did carpentry in his spare time. He enjoyed singing and playing guitar on Sundays at church and was a deacon at Kincel Chapel Church since 1986. He is survived by his wife Mabel Lowe Cochran of Jasper; sons Elton Marshall and wife Doris of Wiergate, James Marshall of Jasper, Jimmy Earl Cochran and wife Lisa of Jasper, and Randy Cochran and wife Nicole of Jasper; daughter Renee McGowan of Jasper, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. He is preceded in death by his parents Archie and Lilly Cochran; brothers A.D. Junior Cochran, RL Cochran, Charles Cochran, Jonnie Cochran; sisters Jimmie Lee Hess, Lillie Pearl Ward, Francis Ann Parker, and Vevian Reeves.
