James Horne

James Horne, 83, of Brookeland passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with interment to follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper.

James was born on August 11, 1936 in Huntsville, Texas, he was a resident of Pasadena and had been a resident of Brookeland since 1980. A Veteran, he served his country in the United States Navy and worked for Souhwestern Bell as a PBX Installer. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty Horne of Brookeland; sons Curtis R. Horne of Brookeland and James Allen Smith of Brookeland; a daughter Rebecca Cunningham of Kountze; grandchildren Amanda, Tisha, Ashlyn, Chris, Alan, Derek, April, Josh, and Brittany and 22 great grandchildren.
