Jay "Paw Paw" Furry

Jay “Paw Paw” Furry, 74, of Newton, Texas passed away on Monday, August 31, 2026 at his home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jay was born on October 25, 1951 in Brownfield, Texas. A resident of Newton County since 2017 moving from Rose City; a jokester, hard worker, and a car enthusiast. He is survived by his wife, Donna Furry of Newton; sons Benn Sanford & wife Pamela of Brookeland and Sam Sanford of Newton; daughter Erin DeLeon & husband Dax of Austin; brother Jim Furry of Brownwood; grandchildren Tyler, Julian, Miles, and Javi.
