Jimmy Rogers, of Kirbyville, passed away on October 25, 2023, in Houston, Texas. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper, Texas with interment to follow at Sand Ridge Cemetery in Newton. The family will greet friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jimmy Rogers was born on December 29, 1931, to Albert and Lyda Rogers in Blooming Groves, Texas. Jimmy served his country during the Korean War and was a Private first class in the Army from 1952 to 1954. He was a truck driver until his retirement. He was a resident of this area for 50 years and attended the Beulah Springs Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his son Jerry Rogers and wife Shelly of Kirbyville, Texas; daughter Sylvia Rogers Prince of Kirbyville, Texas, and Mary Johnson and husband Ray of Cleburne, Texas; sister Mary Bayes of Cleburne, Texas; 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lyda Rogers, his wife Floella Rogers, son Terry Rogers and wife Donna, grandson Shane Rogers and son-in-law Jesse Prince.
