Kenneth “K.W.” Barrett, 77, of Kirbyville passed away on Monday, May 31,2021 in Kirbyville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Bean Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native of Talco, Texas; Kenneth was born on May 8, 1944 to Aubrey &Helen Faye Barrett. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Navy, was a resident of Mt. Pleasant and of Kirbyville for the last 40 years. His retirement was spent as a self-employed carpenter. He could do anything, build anything, and drive anything. He was also the nickname giver for the family, bestowing personal nicknames to all the kids and grandkids. He is survived by his son Thomas Wayne Barrett “Tom Tom” &wife Anita of Kirbyville; daughters Tammy Waynette Barrett Phillips “Sissy” of Kirbyville and Tricia Waynette Barrett “Woo Woo” of Kirbyville; sisters Tina Zeigler &husband Ron of Wills Point, Christine Hunter &husband Kelly of Lonestar, Martha Cain &husband Tracy of Webster, and Shirley Moore &husband Brian of Carrollton; as well as nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Judy Carole Barrett, a son Timothy Wayne Barrett “Bubba” and brothers Jimmy Lee and Kenneth Merle.
