Larry Gene Nichols

Larry Nichols, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 in Hemphill, Texas. A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m. with personal remarks at 3:45 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home.

Larry Gene Nichols was born on April 6, 1949 to Jesse and Nellie Nichols. A resident of Brookeland for over 40 years, he spent most of his time fishing claiming “Well, that was a good fish.” He is survived by his sons Larry Gene Myers of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tony Nichols and wife Shana of Brookeland, Texas, David Nichols & wife Becky of Baytown, Jody Nichols and wife Kara of Willis, Texas, and Jamie Nichols and wife Devon of Bridge City, Texas; daughters Laurie Jones and husband Sam of Wiergate, Texas, and Amanda Bean and husband Mark of New Braunfels, Texas; brother Don Nichols of Merryville, Louisiana; sisters Janie Nelson of Newton, Texas, Kalinda Day of Kirbyville, Texas, and Brona Kelly of Kirbyville, Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
