Palo Pantoja Jr.,57, of Jasper passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026 in Jasper County. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Freedom Place Church in Jasper with interment to follow at Jasper County Cowboy Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church.
Palo was born on March 23, 1969 in Laredo, Texas to Leopoldo & Carmen Zuniga Pantoja. A life-long resident of Jasper, Palo was known for his kind spirit and willingness to always lend a helping hand. His strong work ethic was an example of his belief in serving others. He served his community in many ways, but he was a huge advocate for the baseball program in Jasper and was known to most as Coach Palo. He was most importantly a family man. He loved his family and had great pride in all their accomplishments. Spending time with his family and supporting them was top priority.
He leaves behind a loving family and a host of friends to cherish his memory. He is survived by his parents Leopoldo & Carmen Pantoja of Jasper; wife of 25 years Monica Pantoja of Jasper; sons Heath Pantoja of Jasper, Aaron Pantoja of New Orleans, Kyson Pantoja of Jasper, and Kaleb Burrows of Austin; brother Efrain Pantoja & wife Grace of Jasper; sister Irma Arriaga of Jasper and Norma Tovar & husband Rosalio of Jasper; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
