Linda Matzke

Linda Iris Matzke, 78, of Jasper passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 in Jasper. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Jasper Church of Christ with interment to follow at Weeks Chapel Cemetery in the Harrisburg Community. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home in Jasper.

Linda Iris Matzke was born on October 20, 1943 in Newton, Texas to Ward &Iris Westbrook. A life-long resident of Jasper, Linda was a 1962 Jasper High School graduate, a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, and a member of the Jasper Church of Christ. She was an educator, who loved her students and educating them. She also loved her family and her fur babies. She is survived by her husband, whom she married on November 25, 1965, Frank Matzke of Jasper; a son Bryan Matzke of Nacogdoches; a daughter Rachel Colson &husband Rick; brothers Don Westbrook &Roger Westbrook of Jasper; grandchildren Raven Brooks &Avari Satterwhite; step-grandchildren Cheyann Miller &Justin Colson; as well as great grandchildren Mila, Parker, Stetson, Rhett &Bridger. She is preceded in death by a brother Ward Powell. She also leaves behind a host of students, whose lives she impacted in and out of the classroom.
