Max Griffin, 60, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Shenandoah, Texas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A native of Woodville, Texas Max was born on December 16, 1961 to Carl “Bud” Talamadge &Sally Maxine Reid Griffin. Max was a member of the Jasper High School Graduating Class of 1980. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and studied radio, television, and film. He received his first pilot’s license when he was 15 years of age. He attended the Oklahoma Aviation School and was a pilot for American Airlines for 20 plus years as a First Officer. He was also a pilot for Seaport Airlines for 2 years, where he was the President of Operations, Asia Pacific Airlines in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he was Captain and he also flew for The Houston Rockets Basketball Team. Max is survived by his son Michael Colby Griffin; brother John Loden; sister Danna June Smith; granddaughter Ryleigh Evangelina Griffin; cousin Lin Griffin Cruse; his best friend of 54 years Kenneth Miller; fur babies Ana Mae &Ike; as well as extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Carl “Bud” Talmadge &Sally Maxine Reid Griffin and his sister Barbara Ann Carroll.
