Molly Jean Fletcher

Molly Jean Fletcher, 75, of Tyler passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at Shultz Funeral Home with graveside services at 3:00 p.m. at Nevills Chapel Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will greet friends on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Molly was born on October 6, 1947 in Marshall, Texas to Morris &Hazel Scott. A long-time resident of Jasper, she was a member of the 1966 graduating class of Jasper High School. She attended the Jasper Bible Church where she played the piano for many years. In 1971 she graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and then graduated with her Master’s Degree of Education from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1985. She had been a resident of Tyler for the past six years. Molly is also fondly remembered for her numerous years teaching for Jasper Independent School District and First Baptist Christian School. She is survived by her sons Greg Fletcher &wife Lynette of Tyler and David Fletcher &wife Jessie of Lufkin; daughter Kellie Fletcher of Lufkin; sisters Wanda Bittick of Kilgore and Vanda Babich of New Braunsfels; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Morris &Hazel Scott and a daughter Kristina Fletcher Comeaux.
