Patsy Jan Gideon

Patsy Jan Sloan Gideon, 68, of Newton passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 peacefully at her home with her family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the home of Chris and Taylor Matthews, 380 County Road 1130 Newton, Tx. Friends and family are warmly invited to attend and celebrate Patsy’s life.

Patsy was born on July 14, 1957 in El Paso, Texas to Dale & Kay Sloan. Patsy devoted more than 30 plus years of her life to Complete Health Care in Jasper. She truly loved her work and cared deeply for her patients, many of whom became like family to her. She was a devoted mother, and her children were her whole world.

She is survived by her three children Chris and Taylor Matthews, Stacy and Bean Nolen, and Wesley and Rizi Matthews. She is also survived by her brother John Shaver; her sisters Peggy Griffith and Mary Lynn Nichols; and a host of beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Dale and Kay Sloan; brother Bill Sloan; sister Billy Dale Regas; sister-in-law Barbara Shaver; and brother-in-law Richard Nichols.

Patsy will be remembered for her loving heart, strong work ethic, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren, who always knew that no matter what, she was there for them with unconditional love and without judgement.
