Phillip John Chuchro

April 14, 1946 — May 20, 2025

Phillip John Chuchro, a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend, passed away on May 20, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 14, 1946, in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois to the late Walter and Harriet Chuchro. Phillip's journey through life was marked by hard work, dedication, and a deep commitment to his family and career.

Phillip was a man of unwavering loyalty and support, characteristics that he carried into every aspect of his life. He spent over 30 years working with Silgan, where he built not just a career, but a legacy of diligence and integrity. His colleagues, which span multiple states, remember him as energetic and dependable, always ready to lend a hand.

In 1968, Phillip married the love of his life, Shirley Jean, embarking on a beautiful journey together that lasted 57 years. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, weathering life's storms and celebrating its joys hand in hand. Shirley preceded Phil in depth by 14 days. Their love was too strong to keep them separated.

Together, they raised their daughter, Melissa Rae Smith, who carries forward her father's spirit of determination and kindness. Shirley often said to Melissa, "I should have named you Phyllis!"

Phillip's family was his pride and joy. He cherished every moment spent with his granddaughter, Gracie Rae McBride, whose dramatic stories brought a sparkle to his eyes. "Pa" enjoyed attending any event Gracie was participating in and was her number one fan. He loved to see her on the golf course and working with the horses.

Phillip leaves behind his daughter Melissa Smith & husband Steven; granddaughter Gracie McBride; and a brother Rick Chuchro & wife Johanna. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley Chuchro, parents Walter & Harriet Chuchro, and brother Ron Chuchro.

Immediate family will gather to celebrate Phillip's life on Monday, June 9, 2025, at Lake Fork. It will be a day to remember the man who touched so many lives with his warmth and sincerity.

Phillip leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience, and though he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. As we say goodbye, we hold onto the memories of his laughter, his kindness, and the unwavering support he offered to all. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to The Pyth Home, 1825 E. Bankhead Dr. Weatherford, Texas 76086 in honor of Mr. & Mrs. Phillip Chuchro.
