Ralph Price Brent

Ralph Price Brent, 83 of Magnolia Springs, TX. passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly, on September 11, 2026, in Jasper, TX. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home with interment to follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery. The family will great friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ralph was born on December 12, 1942, in Port Arthur, TX. to James and Mildred Brent. When he was in elementary school, Ralph’s family moved to the oilfields of Orangefield TX., which remained his home until graduation from Orangefield High School in 1961. On September 4, 1965 he married Sandra Mouton Brent and the two spent the next 61 years pursuing life together.

Married in Port Arthur, Tx., their married life began in Monroe, Louisiana where Ralph was attending Northeast Louisiana University to become a pharmacist. A career in which he served for 53 years. Upon completion of his degree, Ralph and Sandy returned to Orange, Tx. to raise their family. During these years he served as the Chief Pharmacist for Orange Memorial Hospital and later moved to Christus St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Beaumont, Tx. Ralph officially retired from his career in 2023. In the summer of 2000, they purchased a rugged old farm place in Magnolia Springs, Tx. They’ve resided there since 2004 and built a life of restoring and nurturing a property that has served as a great treasure for their family. “The Farm” was the place he loved most. Ralph and Sandy loved the Sunsets, the tractors, the dogs and the memories. It was his dream come true. One cannot discount the peace and joy this place brought to Ralph’s life. Ralph Brent was a man of Principle. He Loved family and was committed to creating opportunities for the ones he loved. He had tremendous regard for education and the disciplines it demanded. Ralph was nostalgic. He knew who he was and where he was from. He had faith in the inherent goodness of people and was inquisitive about their stories. He believed in hard work and doing the right thing; the right way. While his greatest love was his family, Ralph had other passions. He was an incredible student of cars, guns and history. Blessed by an uncanny memory, Ralph could identify almost any car make and model from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s. The same could be said about firearms, pocket knives and World War II. Ralph is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sandy Brent; his brother, James Brent of Baton Rouge, La; and sister Julia Stewart of Sterling Va. One would be remiss not to state his greatest pride and joy; his children, grandchildren and great granddaughter by whom he is also survived. Daughter, Anna Brent of Dallas, Tx. Son, Fred Brent and his wife, Terri, of Georgetown, Tx. His grandchildren, in order of birth are, Sam Wells (wife Sidney), Caitie Wells,Austin Brent (wife Mackenzie), Alex Brent and Abby Brent. Great granddaughter, Warren Wells.
