Robert Joseph Kester

Robert “Bobby” Kester, 82, of Toledo Bend passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 in Jasper. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Shultz Funeral Home with a reception to follow for all friends and family.

Bobby was born on June 27, 1943 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Robert Cornelius “R.C.” & Isabelle Kester. A resident of Houston, he retired from FKP Associates, where he was an architect. Upon retirement, he and his wife Dale moved to Toledo Bend, where they have been happily retired for the last eight years. A devoted member of the Toledo Baptist Church, he loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed a good cigar and cooking, but most importantly he loved his family dearly.

He is survived by his loving wife Dale Kester of Toledo Bend; son Christopher Kester & wife Jennifer of San Antonio; grandchildren Courtney Kester, Tanner Herrin, and Kate Herrin; and a son-in-law Jay Herrin of Lubbock. He is preceded in death by his daughter Casey Herrin and sister Ellen Browne. He leaves behind a host of wonderful memories for family and friends to cherish.
