Walter Singletary, 75, of Magnolia Springs passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Erin Missionary Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Erin Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erin Missionary Baptist Church prior to the service on Friday.
Walter was born on April 13, 1949 in Jasper, Texas to Kimble &Thetis Singletary. A life-long resident of the Magnolia Springs Community, he worked as a truck driver in the gas and lumber industry and served his country in the United States Army. He loved working in the woods and was a skilled carpenter who loved working with his hands. He was a member of Faithway Missionary Baptist Church and loved his church family. A true family man, he loved his family, but he especially loved his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Kathy Singletary; mother Thetis Singletary; sons Allen Singletary &wife Angie and Troy Singletary; sister Jeannie Singletary; grandchildren Chelsie Pate, Tiffany Sonnier, Samantha Garcia, Morgan Dowden &Hunter Dowden; great grandchildren Abby Pate, Nevaeh Sonnier, Chase Sonnier, Wyatt Pate, &Kade Sonnier.
